SURREY -- In a letter written to B.C.’s Transportation Minster Kevin Falcon and Translink Chair Malcolm Brodie, Surrey-Whalley MLA Bruce Ralston has demanded an explanation for the apparent lapses in basic maintenance he personally noticed while driving over the bridge recently.

VICTORIA – The Minister of Health must release the Fraser Health Authority's fast-tracked report on the challenges and future of Surrey Memorial Hospital to the public, Bruce Ralston, MLA for Surrey-Whalley said today.

"The public needs to see the full and report and the recommendations contained in it," said Ralston. "We know that the Minister of Health has been in possession of this report for over a month – what is he waiting for?"

President Abi Sharma Ghimire of the Nepal Cultural Society of BC welcomed Surrey MLA’s Sue Hammell, Jagrup Brar, Bruce Ralston and Harry Bains to the Cultural Society’s Dashain 2063 Celebrations at Newton Community Hall on September 30, 2006. Dashain is the longest and most important festival of Nepal. Generally, Dashain falls in late September to mid-October, right after the end of the monsoon season in Nepal. It is a “Day of victory over Demons.”
